Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared that Israel is in the process of winding down its military operations in Gaza following weeks of intense conflict. However, Netanyahu has also warned sternly about the possibility of a new front opening up with Lebanon.
In a press conference on Sunday, Netanyahu stated, “We will have the possibility of transferring some of our forces north, and we will do that.” This announcement comes amidst escalating tensions on Israel’s northern border with Lebanon, where Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed militant group, has been increasing its activities.
The military campaign in Gaza, which began in response to a surge of rocket attacks from Hamas, has resulted in significant casualties and destruction.
