Independence: Capital Chronicle is editorially independent of advertisers, sponsors, owners, funders, and political interests. All Capital Chronicle editorial decisions are informed only by journalistic values and the search for truth.

Transparency: We credit our sources, explain our methods, and disclose our conflicts of interest. If a reporter or contributor has a personal or financial relationship with the subject of a story that compromises his or her reporting, we tell our audience.

Code of Ethics: We always follow the principles of journalistic ethics. We observe human beings' right to privacy, honor, and dignity. Sensationalism, defamation, and incitement are excluded.

Corrections and Clarifications: Where a story contains an error or misinformation, we correct it as soon as possible and note when and where the correction was made. We may also update stories if we learn new information about them.

Editorial autonomy: The editorial staff of Capital Chronicle is not involved in the business and commercial operations of the publication, which are bankrolled separately. Advertisers, sponsors, and other stakeholders are barred from having any editorial involvement with Capital Chronicle and are not permitted to influence or shape its editorial coverage.
