This investment builds on our partnership with the Government of Malaysia to advance its ‘Cloud First Policy,’ including best-in-class cybersecurity standards,

said Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google.

Google’s $2 billion investment in Malaysia will significantly advance the digital ambitions outlined in our New Industrial Master Plan 2030. It will create economic opportunities and propel Malaysia towards becoming a regional leader in digital innovation.

Establishing the data center is expected to significantly boost Malaysia’s digital infrastructure, enhancing connectivity and reliability for businesses and consumers alike. Moreover, it is anticipated to create job opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the region.

Google’s investment aligns with Malaysia’s broader vision to embrace digital transformation and emerge as a critical player in the global tech ecosystem.
